The Stanford Cardinal and Oregon State Beavers first met in 1919 in Corvallis with the Cardinal winning 14-6. Stanford won the next 10 matches before the OSU picked up a tie and then their first win of the series in 1938.

Currently (2007), Stanford holds a 47-24-3 overall advantage, a 17-12-1 lead in Corvallis and a 24-10-2 lead in Palo Alto.

After being dominated for 80 years, Oregon State has slowly started to fight back winning seven of the last 10.
