Series History


The California Bears and Oregon State Beavers first met in 1905 Berkeley with the Bears blanking the Beavers 10-0. Cal won the next four matchups before OSU picked up their first win in the series on the road in 1926.

Currently (2007), Cal holds a 33-27 overall advantage, a 19-14 lead in Berkeley and a 3-2 lead in Portland. The teams are an even 11-11 in Corvallis.

The Bears are the only team in the Pac-10 that Oregon State never tied a game with. OSU is just six wins away from breaking even in the series.

Historically the series has been a series of winning streaks with Cal winning six consecutive games three times and the Beavers winning four straight games four times.

Recently, OSU has dominated the series winning seven of the last ten while having great success on the road winning their last four tilts in Memorial Stadium. In fact the road team has won the last four games.
